Informational meetings on Asolo Prosecco production

Yesterday evening, another training event for Asolo Prosecco Consortium members and the wine industry was organised in collaboration with CECAT. It was held in the Hangar Room at La Fornace in Asolo.

The meeting, with talks by Carlo Duso from DAFNAE, University of Padua, and Luigi Forlin of CECAT, focused on raising awareness and informing the public about Flavescence Dorée.

Containment of this phytoplasma was discussed extensively based on its fundamental aspects: recognition of symptoms in the field and eradication of symptomatic vines, phenology of the vector Scaphoideus titanus and its monitoring, as well as basic proper agronomic and treatment practices with reference to regional phytosanitary bulletins and regulatory compliance as per Veneto regional guidelines.

The results of batch tests carried out for the Veneto Region to contain the vector and monitoring performed by CECAT in the DOC territory were also presented.
